Friendship never ends — even after almost three decades!
Almost 30 years after working together on Spice World, former costars Victoria Beckham and Richard E. Grant had an unexpected reunion in while separately vacationing on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
On Tuesday, Grant, 68, posted a photo of himself and Victoria, 51, on Instagram posing beside a restaurant table, with a caption that revealed that they reunited after realizing they just happened to be dining next to each other.

“🎶’STOP RIGHT NOW’ 🎶 I worked with @victoriabeckham on SPICEWORLD – THE MOVIE, 28 years ago and found ourselves at adjacent lunch tables today @ristoranteloscoglio on the Amalfi coast.” the actor wrote in the caption.
Grant added, “As delightful and warm as you could wish for. 🥰🇮🇹🥰🇮🇹🥰🇮🇹🥰🇮🇹.”
Beckham responded to the post in the comment section, echoing Grant’s sentiments. “So lovely seeing you!!!!” she wrote. “Kisses and happy summer xxxxxxx.”
David Beckham joined the conversation in the comments section, jokingly pouting that he missed out on the reunion. “Can’t believe I didn’t get one 🤨 @richard.e.grant next time ❤️” he wrote.”
“@davidbeckham 🤣You need to up your ‘game’ Sir David – congratulations! Next time 😉🥰”
Grant responded, referencing the 50-year-old’s impending Knighthood.

Grant appeared alongside the Spice Girls — Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Posh (Beckham), Scary (Mel B), Sporty (Melanie C), and Baby (Emma Bunton) — in 1997’s Spice World, portraying the band’s fictional manager, Clifford.
The critically panned and plotless endeavor by the pop group became a cult favorite for its joyful and ridiculous yet self-aware shenanigans and, of course, the endless earworms. And despite the negative reception from critics, the film was undoubtedly a success; Spice World was released in movie theaters worldwide and fast became a box-office hit. In the U.S., the film broke the record for the highest-ever weekend debut for Super Bowl weekend with box office sales of $10.5 million. Worldwide, the movie grossed $77 million, and later more than $100 million in DVD — or more likely, VHS — sales.
It was a quick production that capitalized on the band’s upward momentum right before their sophomore album, Spiceworld, was ready to flavor the pot.
While it’s been almost two decades since the film was released in theaters, it’s always great to see the ties that bond are still strong.
The group isn’t touring anymore, but they are still celebrating their milestones together. Last March, the group marked the 30th anniversary of the first auditions by sharing old audition footage on social media.
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions,” the group’s official Twitter account wrote alongside the clip. “What started back in 1994 has turned into an amazing journey, way beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Thank you to our fans for your support from day one. #FriendshipNeverEnds”

The montage — which is set to the Spice Girls’ 1996 megahit “Wannabe” — features the girls, appropriately clad in head-to-toe ’90s garb, dancing, singing, and laughing together as they rehearse to become one of the hottest groups of the time.
A month later, all five members came together to celebrate Beckham’s 50th birthday. David captured the group singing along and dancing to their 1998 hit “Stop,” from Spiceworld, and shared it on his Instagram page. He captioned his post, “I mean come on,” which is basically all you can say to a bunch of icons being iconic.
