Barbora Krejčíková (born 18 December 1995) is a Czech professional tennis player.
Before her shock rise in the singles game in 2021, Krejčíková used to be a doubles specialist, having won Grand Slam titles in the discipline with her fellow countrywoman Kateřina Siniaková.
Krejčíková has a career-high singles ranking of 2, obtained on 28 February 2022 and a career-high doubles ranking of 1 on 22 October 2018. She held the no.1 doubles ranking position for several weeks.
Career
2021: Beginning of singles rise, first Grand Slam singles title
Krejčíková began 2021 ranked 65th in the world in singles. She lost in the second round of the rescheduled Australian Open to 29th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Krejčíková failed to qualify for Doha after losing to Cristina Bucșa in the second round of qualifying. Doha was the only time in 2021 in the singles category that she did not participate. However, she bounced back at Dubai, making her first WTA final in singles since 2017 and above WTA 250 level, losing to Garbiñe Muguruza.
