The well-known tennis player has divorced his wife after 15 years of marriage!
Jamie Murray, the renowned tennis player and brother of the celebrated Andy Murray, has divorced his wife Alejandra Gutierrez after 15 years of marriage.
According to British media reports, he has joined the exclusive dating app “Raya” in his search for a new partner.
Before his marriage, he was reportedly infatuated with Serbian tennis star Jelena Janković.
Jamie, primarily known to devoted tennis fans as Andy Murray’s brother and a doubles specialist, is the father of a three-year-old daughter, Ava.
The couple met in 2008 while Alejandra was studying business in Colombia and married two years later in an intimate ceremony at a beautiful estate in Dunblane, with brother Andy serving as best man.
Unfortunately, their marital bliss was short-lived, culminating in their separation last year, though the divorce was officially finalized in August.
“This is a truly sad situation. They are trying to keep everything as peaceful and civilized as possible. Jamie has already started thinking about the future and has created a profile on a dating app,” The Sun reported.
On his profile on the aforementioned app, Jamie describes himself as an athlete who “travels the world playing tennis.”
The photo he chose to represent himself was taken during a joint training session with his retired brother, Andy.
Perhaps he’s also leveraging the fame of the much more renowned and celebrated male figure in the Murray family.

Although often overshadowed by his younger brother, Jamie Murray boasts an impressive seven Grand Slam titles.
His most significant triumphs include mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon in 2007 with Jelena Janković and in 2017 with Martina Hingis.
It was that first Wimbledon title, won on the famous London grass courts alongside the then-best Serbian female tennis player, that ignited various rumors about the nature of the elder Murray’s feelings for Janković.
At the time, media outlets were buzzing with speculation that the British tennis player was madly in love with Jelena Janković, and that his emotions had long surpassed a friendly-collegial relationship, but that there was no reciprocation.
The celebrated sportswoman remained silent on the allegations, as well as on the potential feelings of her former doubles partner.
When he asked her the following year to defend their Wimbledon title, he received a ‘cold shower.’
Jelena was not interested in expending energy outside of singles competition, as she was at that time striving for the world No. 1 ranking on the WTA list.
However, many believe she simply wanted to avoid a close encounter with her colleague and reignite romance rumors – a romance that couldn’t happen.
Murray soon after entered a relationship with Alejandra, marrying her two years later.
Just when everything seemed idyllic, calm, and stable, and their family was enriched by a daughter – the marriage, unfortunately, broke down.
His brother Andy remains happily married to Kim Sears, daughter of Ana Ivanović’s former coach.
As for Jelena Janković, she has largely stayed out of the media spotlight for years and is known to have a daughter, Una (4), with Dr. Branko Barać.
