Heartwarming in his best role as dad, Simon Cowell shared a new photo of his 11-year-old son Eric. Fans were quick to gush over how grown-up the pre-teen looks. Many also couldn’t help but point out just how much Eric takes after his famous father.
Beloved “America’s Got Talent” judge Cowell captioned the August 28 Instagram post, which showed him seated with one of his dogs in his lap while Eric stood proudly behind him in an “AGT” shirt.

owell rarely shares photos of his only child, whom he welcomed with fiancée Lauren Silverman on Valentine’s Day in 2014. But each time Eric appears on social media, fans are quick to notice how much he has grown.

In addition to Cowell’s own post, close friend Terri Seymour recently shared photos from a fun day out with Silverman and Nicole Scherzinger. While the gathering included plenty of star power, it was Eric and Seymour’s daughter, Coco, who stole the spotlight with their sweet friendship.
Fans once again marveled at how much the children had grown. “So grown up!!! Look at those two!” one follower wrote. Another added, “Omg Coco looks like a teenager. Soooo beautiful [heart emoji].”
Cowell on Fatherhood & Bond With Eric
Cowell has been candid about how fatherhood transformed his life after welcoming Eric at age 54. Speaking to People in May 2025, he admitted that becoming a dad gave him a new purpose.
“[Fatherhood has] had a huge impact on me because I loved my parents so much, and once they left, I was kind of lost for a while, and then Eric kind of saved me. Because that love comes back a hundred times more powerful,” he said.
The entertainment mogul has echoed those sentiments in past interviews, telling HELLO! in June 2024 that every decision he makes is now with Eric in mind. “From the moment I saw the scan, I was like, ‘That is it, I’m besotted,’” he said. “He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him.”

Cowell also opened up about his deep love for Eric during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.
“After I lost my parents, I genuinely felt I would never feel that kind of love for anyone ever again. I thought that was it, until I saw the scan of him for the first time. From that moment I saw the scan, I was like, ‘That is it, I’m besotted.’ Now I just cannot imagine my life without him. He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him.”
He may be the harshest critic on TV, but at home, Simon Cowell’s greatest role is being Eric’s proud and loving dad!
